Wet your necklace so the rope can absorb the color easier. When sparkles aren t really your thing industrial materials save the day. I did a few knots to make sure it would hold. Decide how long you want the necklace to be.

You may want anything from 30 40 inches doubled 60 80 inches total. Who says gorgeous jewelry has to be expensive. Let your necklace absorb color for anywhere from 15 minutes to a couple of hours. I went with a length of 32 inches when doubled 64 inches total.

The neck step is optional however i found it tidied up the ends and made sure the rope wouldn t fray. Once your dye is adjusted to the right color place your wet necklace into the dye. I started with the outside strands. To make the knot into a necklace lay out the knot and form the tails into a circle.

Hot glue the ends together remove the scotch tape as you glue the ends. Keep the thread tight to make sure the necklace will last. Once you re happy with the length finish the necklace by tying the thread in a final knot.
