Door Bottom Rust Repair

Today we are repairing the bottom of the door skin on the 40 plymouth.

A final sanding of the primer was completed before the area was masked off and sprayed with sealer. Epoxy primer to protect from rust. Still have to spot and grind a few welds then throw on some primer and be ready for some body work later on. Allow the neutralizer to sit on the spot for about two hours or the amount of time recommended by the manufacturer.

You can buy rust neutralizer at most auto parts or home improvement stores. This is the final coat before the paint and it helps to improve adhesion and to hide any discolorations. We will show how to remove fabricate and apply a new door skin. The paint basecoat was applied over the door in even and overlapping coats.
